The ban on electoral activities in the University was lifted in a statement by the publicity committee of the Students’ Union Electoral committee few weeks ago.
This has paved the way for interested and willing qualified students of the University to vie for the posts of the choice and serve the students.
The statement further goes to say that students can obtain their forms for various executive and SRC positions at the students affairs division of the University.
A visit to the students affairs division reveals that students are to obtain an authority to pay and thereafter proceed to the institution’s microfinance bank for payment after which the form would be made available.
The present executives and members of representative council assumed office on December 17, 2019, two years after the suspension of the Students Union by the erstwhile vice-chancellor, Professor Idowu Olayinka.
In a release by the Publicity committee again, In accordance with the constition of Univeristy of Ibadan Student that each 100 students should be represented at the SRC. These are the quota that is expected to come from each Halls of Residence as the Student Representive Council.
