Just last year,when the capture and arrest of the famous billionaire Gucci master by UAE authorities and FBI trended,we thought that was the highlight of the the news Ramoni Abass aka Hushpuppi would have.


This has however been proven untrue with the series of allegations,twists and turns following his arrest.


First if the major news is definitely an added feather to the cap of Nollywood as Ebonylife productions is set to team up with Will packer productions and Universal pictures to bring on to screens the intriguing story if Hushpuppi as told by Evan Radcliff in the Bloomberg article titled “The Fall of the Billionaire Gucci Master.


In a release by Moe Abudu, the CEO of Ebonylife productions, the globetrotting action thriller project is said to be a hybrid of CATCH ME IF YOU CAN and USUAL SUSPECTS.
She believes that they are many lessons to be learnt from good and bad stories and what better way to tell this story than involving a Nigerian storyteller and production company with great pedigree.


In the not too good part of the news involving Hushpuppi,it seems like a well decorated and celebrated Officer of the law is about to be dragged in the mud Hushpuppi made.


A former commander of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Abba Kyari, has been indicted by the FBI to be an accomplice in the Hushpuppi saga.


In a detailed report released a few weeks ago,it shows that Hushpuppi and Mr Abba Kyari has frequent impersonal and criminally inclined conversations with money exchanging hands.


He has since responded to the allegations saying he was only a middleman connecting Hushpuppi to his awesome tailor whom he wanted to patronize.
This is coming after FBI said the sum of $20,600 ( 8 million Naira) was paid to Abba Kyari, to arrest and detain Kelly Chibuzo Vincent.


In a now deleted post,he also claims that Abbas who we later came to know as Hushpuppi called our office about 2years ago that somebody in Nigeria seriously threatened to kill his Family here in Nigeria and he sent the person’s Phone number and pleaded we take action before the Person attacks his family.


“We traced and arrested the Suspect and after investigations, we discovered there wasn’t an actual threat to anyone’s life. And they are long-time friends who have money issues between them hence we released the Suspect on bail on health ground.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had subsequently secured a court order for Kyari’s arrest over the indictment while the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) set up a panel to probe his relationship with Hushpuppi.


It is clear that is case is definitely a movie unfolding and we cannot wait to see how it goes so we can update you and learn.
